The Gate – US 7 3/4

As the title suggests, this ring reminds me of a miniature castle gate. It was made as part of a small collection for a jewelry course that I was taking and will remain one of a kind.

Unlike my usual work, this ring was not cast using jewellers’ wax, but rather fabricated directly by shaping pieces of recycled precious metal. Its shoulders are hand engraved, and it holds a dark blue Australian sapphire in a 14k (585) gold frame.
